we can't believe our baby boy is already three years old! time really does go by way too fast. our sweet, fiesty, cautious, creative, and loving little guy turned the big 3 on April 27th. we can't imagine our days without him.

at a week and a half old, Hayden's belly cord fell off and she got to have her first bath in her bathtub. she liked it way more than the sponge baths she was getting. she enjoyed lounging in the warm water. when it came time to wash her that was another story! she definitly did not like being bothered and was not happy to stop her relaxing and get washed.

i got lots of help from her big brothers. they do not like to let her out of their sight. nolan kept telling me to be very careful and that she was really really small as i was washing her. it was very cute!

On March 16th at 3:53am we welcomed our baby girl Hayden Noelle into the world. She was due March 21st but wanted to meet her big brothers a little early! She was 7lbs 7oz and 18 1/2 inches long. Nolan and Carson were beyond excited to meet their little sister. They both immediately fell in love with her and couldn't stop smiling. It was so cute to see how excited they were. I know Hayden will always be protected by her two big brothers!

She is such a perfect little girl. Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes!

Our sweet sleepy girl only hours old...

Leaving the hospital, Hayden did NOT like her carseat or the ride home. Poor little baby cried, I mean screamed, the whole time. It was so hard to hear. Once we got home Hayden was much happier and content. She snuggled right into her little rocker and fell asleep.

Since it has almost been a month since our sweet girl was born I have TONS of pictures to share. Things are a little (and by a little I mean alot) crazy right now. I promise to get more pictures up soon. She is already growing like crazy and changes so much every day.

Nolan had a great monster truck birthday party!

It really is so hard to believe that Nolan is already 5 years old. I serioulsy remember bringing him home from the hospital like it was just yesterday. Time really does go by way too fast!

we had so much fun as a family on new years eve! my parents came over and we made individual mini pizza's and had movie night. the boys loved making their pizzas and choosing what toppings they wanted to put on. after pizza they got to make their own ice cream sundae! later we all watched Toy Story 3 with yummy popcorn. it was a great way to bring in the new year!

After coming home from grammie and papa's house and taking a much needed nap, it was time to celebrate christmas eve with grandpa and grandma! The boys were very excited to continue their christmas celebration!

Nolan and Carson are going to be BIG BROTHERS to a new little someone. We get to find out if they will have a baby brother or a baby sister in October. The baby is doing well and so are we. We are very excited to add this LAST addition to our family!

Our little soccer star cannot get enough of this game. As soon as Jason gets home from work that is all Nolan wants to do...play soccer.

Because Nolan is so into soccer, we signed him up to play through AYSO. He LOVES it and is having a great time.

His team is "The Great White Sharks" and he has already made some good friends.

We LOVE watching him play and have fun!

Nolan had his first soccer game on September 11th and did a great job!

He scored 2 goals and had a blast chasing after the ball.

The big day was September 1st! Carson went to school for the first time and is in the Early Learner classroom. Nolan is becoming a pro at school and is now in Pre-K!

we went on a really fun camping trip as a family to the san onofre state park. it was so much fun for nolan and carson! my parents came too which made it even more fun and special.

before heading down to the beach, nolan liked looking for pinecones with his grandpa.

after setting up camp we headed down to the beach...

san onofre is such a pretty place!!!

after the beach we went back to camp and ate dinner. we then of course roasted marshmallows and ate smores! yummy!

We had such a fun fourth of July! Our friends Amritha and Kim, with her three cute boys, came over to help us celebrate! We had a yummy BBQ and delicious drinks. After enjoying hot dogs, chips, dip, lava cake, and ice cream we were off to see the fireworks. Ladera puts on an amazing show so we were very excited!
The boys got cool glow sticks which they made into a giant circle. Amritha took some cool pictures with her new camera on the night vision setting!!!Waiting for the fireworks...

Nolan and Carson loved the fireworks. I was amazed by the show that Ladera put on. I feel so fortunate to live in such a cool community. I had the best time with friends and family. The only thing that was missing were my parents. It was my moms birthday and we missed seeing her.

More Arizona...

We started off our summer by going to visit Jason's parents in Arizona. We had so much fun swimming and relaxing. A few days after we arrived our good friends Miriam and Eric came out to play too. We went to the lake and had so much fun on the boat. Miriam did a great job wakeboarding!

Nolan loved being out on the lake and going fast in the boat. When we were at the house, he was a little fish! We couldn't keep him out of the pool. One day as Nolan was going from the spa to the pool and back again, he tripped and fell face first on the paver stairs. It was so scary and horrible. He was all swollen and got a black eye. He was such a brave boy though and it didn't stop him from having a great time.

Carson loved being on the boat and playing in the sand at the lake. He had a great time playing in the shallow pool at the house and throwing the 100 water balloons that I filled up. He was also obsessed with Rocky the cat. I think poor Rocky probably slept for a week straight after we left.

Carson Dane turned two on April 27th!

Since it has been WAY too long so I am posting a collage of his special day. This idea I got from my genius neighbor and friend! I don't know why the frame is gone but it's better than nothing.

Carson is a fun loving little guy who loves trains and Keeky-mouse.

He is talking up a storm and repeats EVERYTHING we say.

He enjoys pestering Nolan and likes to climb up anything he can.

Citizen of the Month

Nolan was nominated as the "Citizen of the Month" for the month of February at our school. We are so proud of him and how far he has come at school. Nolan's teachers said at the ceremony that he sets a great example for the other children in his class and that he is always a very kind friend. At the same assembly, Nolan was also chosen to be awarded for a "Do the Right Thing Award." We are very proud of our sweet boy!

On March 20th, Nolan and Carson got to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny at our local mall. It was a really cute event. The boys were given Easter baskets with goodies, breakfast, and balloon animals. Nolan liked sitting with the Easter Bunny and the Easter Bunnies "sister." Carson liked looking at the Easter Bunny from afar but did not want to get too close. It was a perfect morning with our cute boys!

On February 28th our little guy turned the BIG four! We celebrated his birthday on the 26th with lots of family and friends. Nolan had a blast at Pump it Up!

Busy Holiday Fun...

Our Holiday season started the day before Thanksgiving with the boys first trip to Disneyland! Nolan was beyond excited and wanted to go on all the rides and meet Mickey Mouse. Carson was also excited about being at Mickey's home! We had the best time with my parents, my brother, and April. It was a trip we will definitly always remember!Carson loved his mouse ears and Nolan was very festive wearing his pirate ears.

Nolan was very happy to meet Mickey Mouse. Carson was interested in looking at "mouse" but wanted to keep his distance.

Nolan was so cute meeting all of the different characters and had them sign his autograph book that Uncle Kevin and April got for him.

Carson absolutely loved watching the parade. He cheered and clapped his hands! It really was so cute to watch.

After watching the fireworks, it started to snow. Nolan was beyond estatic to see the pretend snow coming down from the sky! The castle was so pretty with all of the Christmas lights!

After Disneyland we stayed in a hotel. It was really fun. The next day (on Thanksgiving) we went to the Long Beach Aquarium. It was a great way to spend the day!

We took Nolan and Carson to the mall near our house to visit Santa Claus. Nolan was very excited to see Santa and tell him everything that he wanted for Christmas. Carson was also happy with the thought of seeing Santa. Actually going near Santa and sitting on his lap was another story. Poor Carson was not liking Santa at all! Being the sweet boy that Nolan is, after he told Santa what he wanted for Christmas he told Santa that his little brother would like some trains. I thought it was very sweet of him.

Ever since Halloween, Nolan has put his spiderman costume on everyday after school. While I was making dinner, Nolan and Carson were playing a game on the itouch and snuggling...priceless!

To help decorate the house for Christmas, Nolan and Carson made a gingerbread house! It was so cute. I am not sure if more candy ended up being eaten or put on the house! They did a great job!

To celebrate the Christmas season, Nolan had a holiday performance at his school. He did such an amazing job! He makes us so proud everyday. I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up!

The day after Christmas, my dad came over to visit. It was so nice to see him and spend time with him. Nolan and Carson were excited too!

I have had such a fun winter break hanging out with my boys. We have had so much fun meeting our friends Kieren and Nicole at the Rainforest Cafe, going to Pretend City with Tara and Max, visiting Shamu with Jackie, going to Build a Bear with grandma and grandpa, and having a fun little New Years Eve party for Nolan and Carson!

Wow! I can't believe that my last post was in September and tomorrow will be December 1st! I have been so busy that when the boys go to bed I can only veg out on the couch and therefore the blog has been ignored. However, all of a sudden I feel the need to upload my pictures and share. I have so many great pictures of our trip to the pumpkin patch, Halloween, Disneyland, Thanksgiving at the aquarium, and the boys visit with Santa! My goal is to have these up by the end of the week. I know it's not New Years yet but my resolution is to be a better blogger. :)

Over Memorial weekend, we went sailing down in San Diego with my parents. It was so much fun and Carson and Nolan LOVED it! Here is Nolan hoisting up the sail with my dad. It was so cute because Nolan was very excited to "Sail like a pirate." While they were putting up the sails, Nolan and his grandpa were talking like pirates! Nolan was also learning all about all the different sailing lingo.

On the other hand, Carson was a little dare devil! Born to be a sailor! He had no fear and loved being out sailing! He was so funny and we liked watching him enjoy his first sailing experience.

First Haircut

Carson got his very first haircut at the mall this weekend! As you can see from the first picture, he didn't think that getting a haircut was a good idea!

Aquarium of the Pacific

Nolan, Carson and I are having such a fun and busy summer. We have a weekly schedule (the teacher in me) and we also try to go on a little trip each week. The latest little outing we went on was to the aquarium in Long Beach. We went with our really great friends Laura, Ethan, and Eli. Nolan loves being with Ethan! They have a lot of fun together. I really liked this aquarium and would go back in a second! Our favorite parts were the sea lions, sharks, and lorkeets. In the lorkeet exhibit, Nolan was dying to hold one of the birds. Well he soon got his wish because all of a sudden I had birds landing on my head, trying to eat my necklace, and picking at my earrings. Meanwhile I was holding Carson and he started freaking out that there were birds all over his mommy and way to close to him. Nolan was so excited and kept asking me to let him hold a bird. I would have gladly given him the birds on me but they wouldn't get off. A volunteer there helped get the birds off and then let Nolan hold one. I was glad to have the birds off, Carson was glad they were gone, and Nolan thought it was the greatest thing because he got to hold one. Next, we watched a 3D movie about the ocean. It was Nolans first experience with 3D glasses and it was hilarious. During the movie he sat so still watching everything going on. Once a few minutes passed, he would reach out and try to grab the fish and bubbles in the movie. It was so funny and really cute to see him try to catch the things in the movie. Before we left, we had lunch together outside the aquarium near the harbor. The boys enjoyed being outside and looking at the boats as they gobbled up their lunches. It was a really great day!

4th of July Weekend

We had such a fun 4th of July weekend! The fourth is my moms birthday so they came down for fun in the water, a bbq, and fireworks! We bought Nolan a blow-up pool to play in and he loved splashing and playing in the pool. Carson also liked the pool but was just as happy playing with the water table.

There was also a HUGE block party with blow-up slides. Nolan went down the slide and had a blast!

On Sunday, we all headed down to the beach. It was the perfect day for a beach trip! We got there early to beat the crowds and it was already warm. Nolan and Carson enjoyed playing in the sand.

Carson was interested in checking out the water but when we got close, the waves scared him a little. Once the cold water touched his toes, he was definitly not impressed and wanted to continue his digging.

Nolan also liked "looking" at the water. He didn't like the sea weed and would kind of freak out every time he was near it. Nolan liked the idea of going in the water but once it hit his feet, he was ready to go back to digging just like Carson.

It was such a fun weekend~thanks mom and Kim for so much fun! I really can't wait to take the boys back to the beach, they had a blast.

Nolan is doing so much better since being admitted to the hospital a couple of weeks ago. He has had his CT and it came back negative which is great! He hasn't had anymore of the horrible tummy pain and is almost completely back to his old self. He has one more test that is in the works of being scheduled. We are sure that the test will come back negative as well, but it still needs to be done as a precautionary measure. Nolan has been amazing throughout all of this and has been such a brave little boy. He did awesome during his CT test and was so cooperative! Way to go Nolan, mommy and daddy are proud of you!

Wild Animal Park ~June 25, 2009

A few weeks ago, we went to The Wild Animal Park with our great friends Amritha, Laura, Ethan, and Eli. We had so much fun! Nolan really liked seeing all of the animals and Carson had fun too.

Every one who knows Nolan knows that he loves animals. He was beyond excited to feed the ducks and thought it was the greatest thing that they came so close to him. I love how excited he looks in that picture.

At the park nursery, we saw adorable leopards that were only a few weeks old.

Nolan and Ethan liked seeing the lions and thought it was funny that the lions liked this old car.

We went on a tram ride around the park and got to see even more animals!

Although Carson was such a wiggler on the tram ride, he liked to look out and see the animals too.

Before we left the park, we visited the little petting zoo. Again, since Nolan loves animals so much he was so excited. He would pet them and hug them. He is such a sweet boy. Carson was also excited to pet the animals. I had to show him how to be "nice" but he soon got the hang of it and was petting the animals very nicely.

This summer has been so much fun taking the boys to different places! I love all of the time that I get to spend with them. Summers off are such a blessing and remind me how lucky I am to be able to spend three whole months with my boys!

Sea World ~June 21, 2009

We celebrated Father's Day by taking Nolan and Carson to Sea World for a day of fun! First stop was the dolphins. They came right up to the glass and Nolan was very excited to see them! We tried to let him pet them but they stayed out of reach.
Nolan was very excited to see Shamu because we told him all about the big black and white whale. We even showed him pictures before we went so that he would know what we were talking about. It was funny because the first few times Nolan talked about Sea World, he would call Shamu- "Shampoo." He is so cute! We went to the under water viewing area to see Shamu and Nolan thought it was the greatest thing. Even Carson was excited to see Shamu! Every time he would swim by the glass, Carson would say, "ooh, ooh, wow, wow."

After looking at Shamu through the viewing tank, we went to watch the show. It was amazing to see the whales jump and interact with their trainers. Nolan liked the show but didn't want to stay for the entire thing. After a few jumps and splashes, Nolan wanted to see what else he could find at Sea World.

Next stop, the tide pools! Nolan was very interested in holding the starfish and asked lots of questions.

Last but not least, we saw the BIG sharks at the Shark Encounter. Nolan was a little nervous to go through the tunnel but then he thought it was neat. I can't believe how big some of those sharks were...yikes!

We had such a great day at Sea World and we can't wait to go back again!

Our Poor Nolan

Our sweet little boy has been having a rough week (to say the least). It started on Tuesday when Nolan started complaining of a tummy ache. He woke up from his nap crying and in a lot of pain. I did the typical mommy things: tried to comfort him, asked him if he needed to use the bathroom, tried giving him something to eat but nothing was helping our little guy feel any better. I called the doctors office and was told that he could be getting a bug or have gas pains but if it continued to call them back. Not only did Nolan's pain continue but it was getting worse so I called them back. They told us that we could bring him in for an appointment at 7:30p. By this time Nolan was having spasms of pain every 5-10 minutes. At the doctors office, the doctor saw how much pain Nolan was in and sent us to the ER. We didn't have to wait long at the ER since they took Nolan back soon after we arrived. The doctors thought that Nolan could possibly have something called intussusception. This is when the intestine "telescopes" into itself which causes a lot of pain. If not caught right away, it could be dangerous. Nolan first had to get an IV, he did a great job and was very brave! He then had to have an ultrasound to make sure that intussusception was the diagnosis. Sure enough, he had intussusception and needed to get it fixed. He had to have an air enema which popped it back into place. He was admitted to the hospital for observation. It was so sad seeing Nolan feeling sick and wearing the little hospital gown with tigers all over it. We were in the CHOC wing of the hospital. Nolan wanted me to sleep in the bed with him so we snuggled while Nolan was able to get a little bit of rest. The next day Nolan was thrilled to be served breakfast while still in bed. He was so funny because he had to eat a few bites of everything and was seriously in Heaven sitting in his bed, watching cartoons, and drinking apple juice. Nolan was even more excited when our friend Laura popped by for a visit and brought him a very special balloon. (Laura- you made his day, thank you!!!) Nolan had a follow up appointment with his doctor on Friday. Since what happened is pretty unlikely in children his age, Nolan will need further testing to make sure that everything is alright. 80% of children that get intussusception are under the age of two and most of the time it is followed by the flu or a stomach virus which Nolan did not have. What can happen is that sometimes there is something called a "lead point" which can cause this to happen. The doctor is going to have Nolan tested for something called Meckel's diverticulum and he will also have a CT to look for lymphoma. These are precautionary measures that the doctor feels needs to happen to help find out what made Nolan so sick in the first place. Dealing with the hospital and insurance to make the appointments has been nothing short of a nightmare. Nolan is doing good, he doesn't feel good and is not 100% back to his old self but we are sure that he will be in no time. Since Nolan has had such a hard week and will have a few more, we are taking him to SeaWorld tomorrow for a special day! It will be lots of fun and I can't wait. We told Nolan he is going and he is very excited to see "Shampoo." Of course I will be taking tons of pictures so until then...

A few weekends ago, my friend Tara and I took our boys to the petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano. It is always so much fun. Nolan loves to go there and hold the guinea pigs. Carson wasn't sure about all the bunnies and guinea pigs running around, it was funny!

Today Nolan graduated from the Early Learner class and was promoted to Preschool. It was one of the cutest things I've seen and one of my proudest moments as a mommy. When they called his name, Nolan proudly walked on the stage and shook hands with his director and teacher.

This year I have had the honor of driving to and from school with Nolan. Although it was an adjustment for both of us (me having my quiet time and Nolan having to wake up early) it has been the highlight of my days this school year. He always makes me laugh and I love our conversations. I love that he gives me praise for being a good driver and asks me why certain cars are certain colors. Although the commute is far from quiet, it is so much fun and far from the boring drive I used to have! Thank you Nolan, my little backseat driver. I love you!

He's Walking!!!

Yep, that's right...our little guy is walking! We are so proud of Carson and you can tell that he is equally proud as he walks around with the biggest smile on his cute little face. It's funny because just this past weekend we were wondering when he would finally start walking (he had taken a few steps before). Then on Monday he decided that it was time to get moving! I have taken a few pictures that I will post soon. Nolan is a very supportive big brother and was as excited as Jason and I. When Carson would walk he would yell, "He's walking, he's walking, did you see him?" Then when Carson would reach his destination, Nolan would sweetly say to him, "Good job Carson, you're a big boy!" I can't wait until my summer break (5 more days). I know this is going to be such a fun summer with my two boys!!!

Movie Night

Saturday night we had family movie night! We try to have movie night every other Saturday and of course there is always popcorn! Yummy! Nolan gets to pick the movie and this week he chose "Peter Pan." He was entranced with the pirates and lost boys. It was fun to watch him while he was watching the movie. Carson loves movie night just as much as Nolan; he is a popcorn maniac. I take out all of the seeds and kernals for him so that all he has is the white fluffy part...he is in heaven! He must take after me because that boy loves popcorn! It is always so much fun spending time as a family!

Easter

The day before Easter, we decorated eggs for the Easter Bunny! We set up Nolan's little table in the backyard and it was fun to watch Nolan dye his eggs.
Nolan was very serious about the eggs and wanted them to be just perfect!

At first Carson was just watching his big brother but then he decided that he wanted to get in on the action. After all, egg dying is fun and MESSY...who wouldn't want to join in on the fun.

Easter Sunday, Nolan and Carson woke up to baskets full of goodies. The Easter Bunny had visited them during the night!

Crazy or Fun?

At school, the preschool-preK class hatched eggs. It was such an exciting experience for Nolan. For those of you who REALLY know me, you know that I immediately volunteered to take the baby chicks and give them a home. Yes, you read correctly, I became a mommy of two baby chicks! Nolan was thrilled to take them home and lovingly named one Chickie Bickie and the other one Dog.
Don't ask me why Nolan is wearing his PJ pants with his school shirt, I don't really remember BUT I can say he didn't go to school that way.
Nolan was very good with the chicks and liked holding them everyday.
Even Nolan's friends Dylan and Lauren got a chance to meet our little chickies!

When Chickie Bickie and Dog turned into an adolescent hen and rooster, it was time to take them back to the farm with their brothers and sisters. Nolan did well and said his goodbyes. Until next years hatching...

Nolan celebrated his third birthday on February 28th. It is hard to believe that our baby is already three years old! Pictures of his fun party will be coming soon but in the mean time, enjoy some fun information about our big boy.

Nolan is very sweet and genuinely cares about other people's feelings.

He is a thinker.

He LOVES all animals and is very gentle with them.

His smile is contagious and so is his laugh.

He wants to be a fireman when he grows up.

He loves cars, trucks, tractors, and basically anything with wheels.

Nolan likes to watch Diego & Little Einsteins.

He enjoys movie night and thinks popcorn is the best!

He is a good driver although he doesn't always watch where he is going- he says this is because he wants to make sure we are watching him.

Nolan is brave and a risk taker.

Although he is daring he is also shy around new people.

He doesn't like to be the center of attention (unless he is at home).

He still has his two security blankies- bluey and duck.

Nolan says his best friends are his mommy and daddy.

He loves to be outside playing with his friends.

We've Been Busy!

Wow! It feels like forever since I have posted anything on our blog. We've been busy! Carson is now 9 months and is doing great. He had his 9 month check up and weighs 17 lbs and is 27 inches. He is a little peanut! He is starting to eat a lot more food like a big boy. This morning we went out to breakfast and he ate a pancake! I've also been making my own baby food and Carson has been enjoying carrots, parsnips, potatoes, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. He can say mama, dada, and baba. He likes to talk and is very active. He pulls himself up on anything he can and I can just tell he wants to take off and run. He sleeps great and is a very happy little guy. We love him to pieces!
Carson's favorite time of the day is bath time. He LOVES his bath and is not very happy when we take him out. We always have to give him a toy or something to settle him down and then he is back to being happy.

After bath, we hang out in Carson's room while Nolan takes a bath. When Nolan is done, we like to play and read stories. Nolan is such a great big brother! He loves Carson very much and will even share his toys with him (sometimes). Nolan likes showing Carson books too! So cute!

I can't believe that Nolan is almost three! My little baby is growing up and becoming such a big boy. He talks about his birthday party all the time and tells anyone who will listen that he wants a "race car birthday cake" and that "soon I'll be three" As I type this he is singing "Happy Birthday!" He cracks me up. After school, Nolan loves playing outside with his friends and driving his truck.

Nolan loves this little girl Cameron who lives down the street. He calls her his girlfriend and likes taking her for rides in his truck. Her mom and I crack up because they look like a little couple out for a drive. Nolan racing down the street and Cameron playing with the radio. The other day Nolan got his back tire stuck in a rut, it was hilarious as Nolan jumped out of the truck looking at each tire trying to figure out what he should do and Cameron just sat there in the passenger seat...playing with the radio. Typical girl huh?

Nolan is doing a great job at school and we are very proud of him. He likes going to school and his favorite parts of the day are playing outside, stories, and music.

On a sad note, our special fat cat Oliver passed away. It has been hard and really sad for us. Nolan has a book called "Cat Heaven" and knows that that is where Oliver is. He is doing well but will sometimes ask where Oliver is or when he is coming home from cat Heaven. Baylor is sad and misses his brother. The other day when Nolan was petting him he told Baylor, "Baylor, I'm sorry your sad and you miss Oliver, he'll be home soon." Nolan is such a sweet boy and is so caring. We love him so much!

Christmas Day

I know this post is very past due but better late than never!

We had a wonderful Christmas. It was such an exciting Christmas because Nolan was very into it and also because it was Carson's first. Nolan left cookies and milk out for Santa and went off to bed in his special Christmas jammies. Carson also had special jammies. The boys actually slept in and I was dying!!!! I was waiting and waiting for Nolan to wake up and see what Santa had brought him.

Santa brought Nolan lots of goodies but his big santa gift was a tool bench. It had all the tools, goggles, hard hat, and even foam wood for building. He was very excited and happy.

We celebrated Christmas at our house and it was so much fun. I want to host Christmas dinner every year! I loved having family here and sharing this special time with them in our home. It really meant a lot to me.

It was great having all of the cousins together. Walking into the playroom was so funny. There were toys everywhere and I loved that everyone was having such a fun time!

A Snowy Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with my parents in Idyllwild. The boys had so much fun spending time with their grandma and grandpa. And of course, I LOVE spending time with them too! Kim made a delicious gourmet dinner and it was fun opening presents and playing in the snow. Carson was the perfect age for his 1st Christmas. He liked opening presents. I don't know what he liked more though...the paper or the toy!
Carson loves his lion and feels like such a big boy on it.

Nolan had a great Christmas Eve. He had a blast chasing Tully (the cat) around the house, playing with his new trucks, and taking pictures with his new camera.

My mom and Kim got a sled for us to play with outside. There was so much snow and we all had a great time riding it. Carson was sick so he stayed inside with my mom. Thanks for the fun pictures Kim!

Off we go... On the first run down, I didn't quite remember how crazy sledding actually is. I kind of lost control and Nolan and I fell off. Nolan went rolling down the little hill, luckily he thought it was the best thing ever and wanted to go again and again.

On December 21st, we went and celebrated Christmas with my grandparents. We had a really nice time visiting with them.
Carson enjoyed looking at and touching their Christmas tree. He also had a fun time opening his first Christmas present. He got letter blocks. They are very cute and he likes to knock them down when I stack them up.

Nolan enjoyed playing with all the toys at their house and opening his present. He got a Leapster 2, which he calls his computer. He likes playing with it especially the paint a picture feature. He is getting the hang of it. Now we need to get him some games.

Holiday Performance

Nolan had his first Holiday performance on December 16th and it was seriously the cutest and funniest thing I have ever seen. At first he was confused and didn't want us to leave him; after all, he had already been picked up from school once!
Despite the rocky start of not wanting to leave us, he did such a good job. His teacher bribed him with a candy cane, which sure did do the trick.
While he was singing, "We wish you a Merry Christmas" his candy cane fell out of his hand and onto the stage. Nolan was so funny as he picked it up off the stage and proceeded to eat it instead of singing his song.

Nolan did a GREAT job and we are very proud of him!

On Thanksgiving we went up to Idyllwild to spend the day with my parents. We had a really nice time and were so thankful for the fun and yummy food! Nolan had a blast hiking around in the back of the house. He LOVES going to the mountains to visit his grandma and grandpa.

Jason's mom got to come to Idyllwild with us. It was really nice having her there to spend Thanksgiving with us.

I am so thankful for my family and for the time that I get to spend with them.

And He's Off....

At only a few days past turning 7 months, Carson is off and running, well crawling that is! He loves his new found freedom of being mobile and is getting into everything! Just a few minutes ago I had to remove him from our indoor tree...twice. He also has discovered how to let us know he is not happy with being moved away from something he wants to do. For such a mellow and happy little guy, he sure is learning how to throw great tantrums! The day after Thanksgiving (pictures coming), Carson started to do a wobbly crawl. Now he is becoming a pro. This is going to be fun keeping him away from the Christmas tree :) It is amazing to watch how both Nolan and Carson are growing and learning so much everyday. Nolan is doing great and becoming a little super star at school demonstrating excellent behavior. We are very proud of him!

Christmas Magic

We took Nolan and Carson to visit Santa on Saturday. They were both so cute. Nolan wasn't scared and told Santa that he wanted a "spotting scope." As soon as I put Carson on his lap, he pulled Santa's beard. It was funny. Santa said, "Oh we have a little whisker puller!" I just love this picture of my sweet boys looking at each other and smiling. This Christmas is going to be so great. Nolan is at the age where he gets excited everytime he sees anything "Christmas" and this will be Carson's first. I am counting down the days and can't wait!!!

What a Big Boy

Carson is sitting all by himself! What a big boy my baby is becoming. It is so cute that he is now able to sit with Nolan on the carpet and play. Of course Carson wants ALL of Nolan's big boy toys and none of his. He is funny. It is amazing to see how fast both of my babies are growing. I love them to pieces! Carson started saying mamamama tonight too. Even though I know that he is not actually saying mama meaning me, it still melts my heart.

Yeah for matching sweatshirts! I love having Nolan at school with me! It is so comforting to know that I can just walk a few feet and peek into his classroom to see how he is doing. I cannot even tell you how cute he looks sitting on the carpet during circle time with all of his friends. I love seeing how intently he listens to his teacher read a story. Nolan has a great teacher and he really likes her. That makes it that much easier for Jason and I. He is doing great and learning so much. More importantly he is enjoying himself and having a blast!!!

Birthday Party

On Saturday we went and celebrated Mia's 3rd birthday! It was fun. Mia is the cutest little girl and Nolan adores her. He likes to call her "Mia Bowen." We enjoyed seeing all of our friends and Nolan had fun "balloon fighting" Mikey. On our way to Montclair, we noticed a ton of smoke off the freeway. We then heard on the radio that there was a big fire in Corona...little did anyone know it was going to be as crazy as it turned out! While at the party we were told that the 91 freeway was closed, then the 57 freeway was closed! We got nervous and left the party early. It is a good thing we did because we had to drive all the way to the 605, YIKES!!!! We were lucky that the boys fell asleep. The fire was insane! Many of my close friends had to evacuate and we were so worried about them. I kept getting text messages updating me on what was going on. Our school was closed on Monday due to the fire. Driving back today was a little weird. So much was burned. A family at my school lost everything in the fire. My heart goes out to them and all the other families who lost their homes. It makes me feel so grateful for my home, family, and friends.

Six Months

I have been such a slacker in posting Carson's six month stats. Sorry! He is doing great. His appointment was Nov. 7th and he is progressing perfectly. He rolls all over the place and tries to crawl. It is so cute- he gets up on his knees and rocks himself. He doesn't quite understand why he doesn't just take off and "go" like his brother. He watches everything so intently and I know he is just taking it all in...waiting until the perfect moment to WOW us. He likes to talk and says, "bababababa" and "dadadadadad" I keep practicing "mama" but we aren't there yet. He just looks at me and cracks up everytime I say mama to him. We feel so lucky to have such a happy, go-lucky baby!

I was tagged by my friend Rebecca to post the 4th picture in my 4th album. So here it is. It is a picture of Nolan checking out his new baby brother and Carson realizing that he is stuck in this world and not going back. This picture was taken just a few short days after we brought Carson home from the hospital. It brings back so many memories and I can't believe that he is already 6 months old! Wow, does time fly!
